Fork uppers

Post by OldStan » Fri Oct 13, 2017 7:31 pm

I bent one of my fork uppers on my late 67 with the aluminum lowers. I have a spare bike with the steel lower. Are the uppers interchangeable? I know there was a part number change from 51410-273-010 to 51410-273-020, but doesn't always exclude interchangeability.

The '67 units have an added brace, the tops and bottoms are also slightly different. Late units are more common on ebay. I have several but am 1500 miles and 6 months away from my parts stash.

Thanks for the reply. I looked at my early model spares, and they're not in good shape anyway- rusty. I'll probably end up doing eBay, although there is a swap meet I'll check out in a couple of weeks, you never know what you'll find, although I'm usually not that lucky.
