engine stuckengine stuckI knew the engine was stuck when i picked up my free barn find but i've been soking it for more that a week now with marvel mystery oil and still no movement! I can't move the crank which connects to the cam for rotation to find the cam masterlink to remove the head. Any ideas out there? I'am as stuck as the engine. My oxie axcl. tank is last option i do not want to do unless all else fails. Maybe free is not for me but i need a good wonter project a thought i had one here. HELP!!
Pull off the cam chain tensioner and the oil pump. If you still cannot see the link, just cut the cam chain where you can get to it and pull the head off. With the hed off you have several methouds to get the stuck piston(s) moving.
Heat will help but be careful not to melt anything.... G

If you pull the end caps and top cover from the head, and the rocker arms, you can work the camshafts out of the sprocket(loosen the retaining nuts) and it will drop down slightly. Then you can get enough slack in the chain to work the master link to the top.

Re: big thanksIf the engine has lots of miles you won't need to worry about cutting the cam chain. ..................lm
still stucktried t o remove cam tensioner and it will not disengage. all four mountbolts removed and all it does is hinge back on the plunger. Remove the adhustment nuts on the vavles and still no cam and or chain movement?? Don't want to cut it without another one to replace it in hand iwhich i know is going to be tough to fine. Any HELPwould be grateful.
