CL72 Clutch & Brake-Lever Pivot Bolts

Post by OldScrambler » Tue Feb 24, 2015 11:09 am

I have 2 early 1963 CL72s to restore and I am gathering the final parts. I also have a friend in Europe with an early CL72 that he transferred from Australia.......and another friend in Canada that has a '62 with a serial number of 10 or 11. Question: The earliest parts book shows the pivot bolt (#CL727713) with a standard head. Each of us has one or more pivot bolts with a tapped-head and a screw to hold something if anything. I have also removed that type of pivot bolt from other parts-bikes. Which bolt is correct for the earliest models?

Will proceed with standard pivot-bolt. I have a few comments that the tapped head and screw were possibly from some Yamaha models............whatever that is.
