CL77 Fenders

Post by dave91 » Mon Aug 29, 2011 4:18 pm

I have a CL77 that I believe to be a 1966 based on serial numbers. It came with no front fender and a chrome rear fender. Most everything I have seen that is shown as a 1966 has painted silver fenders. Can anyone tell me what the correct fenders are for a '66-painted or chrome?

Thanks linmictil2.
@LoudMouse-the bike is stored an hour from here and I don't know the numbers because I haven't touched it in close to 2 years. Getting the itch to get started restoring. Does the frame number make a difference as to fender type? i.e.-was there an option?

Sure does.
That's the reason I asked for the frame number.
We can only give good information to questions when we know the TRUE issue of the bike.
Frame number?????????. ......lm

I may have spoke too soon. I have a 66 CL77 and it has painted fenders. Mouse is right about the numbers though. He is the expert and can tell you for sure... Have a good one Mike

Thanks LM. As soon as I can get to where the bike is stored, I will get the frame number I will get back to you. I have always wondered if that's the way it was because I have seen them both ways and I want to restore it as correctly as possible.

Thanks to you, too, Mike.

I'll get back as soon as possible.
