I recently have been told that the Keyster carb rebuild kits are ok for the gaskets and needle/seat only, that the pilot jet and main jet/needle do not work as well as the originals.

I bought a pair of these kits at Mid Ohio and would like any further input as to why/why not the above is true.

I made a robust boring bar at work this morning to bore/hone o.s. the cylinders. I bought a pair of o.s. OEM pistons/rings at Wauseon swap meet. I cannot find in my oem 250 manual nor the Clymers manual what the normal clearnce is of the bore to the piston skirt [90 deg from wrist pin at bottom of skirt]. The manuals give the wear tolerances, but not new clearance. I'm thinking .0015 to .002" on a 60mm bore. Any comments?

Thanks,
Dick
