New To Forum - Need Help Tracking Down A Part

Post by Motorradfahrer » Fri Apr 15, 2011 5:53 pm

Hello all!
I've been tinkering around with an old CL77 for a while now that had been sitting for a couple of years. The joint for the kicker is cracked and some of the teeth are worn down. I need to replace the part but haven't had any luck tracking down what I need. Perhaps one of you can point me in the right direction? I'd appreciate any input.
Thank you!

I have a spare with a similar crack. I believe it is from somebody trying to free the stuck engine by jumping up and down on the kick start.

I would watch ebay and make sure you ask if it is cracked or has any other issues. The crack on mine was not separated as yours is so not obvious without cleaning and close inspection.

I will ask around to see if anyone has a spare and let you know if I find one.

You can post a part wanted ad in that section. Guys with parts for sale tend to check it out regularly. I got my new levers posting there from Fast Fred.

regards,
Rob

Thank you for the suggestion. I'll check the classified ads.

I had the same problem. I did my best to grind out the crack and welded it up. After welding I turned the weld down on a lathe so the shaft was uniform in diameter. I got good weld penetration and I have my fingers crossed that it holds up. It will be a while before I know though.
