CL 77 Speedometer

Post by bsape » Tue Aug 31, 2010 5:24 pm

Does anyone know if I can repair a CL77 speedometer or will I have to replace it. The glass is broken out of my current speedometer but it was working fine unitil a few days ago when I took my front end apart to repair the forks. I accidentally dropped the open face of the speedometer against the frame on bent the needle (stupid move). I straightened it out but know I get erratic readings. Any info on how to repair would be appreciated.

Hi Bob

Bad luck there. Do a search on this forum and you will find some good threads on repairing and adjusting speedos. I posted a couple of times. look out for some scrap ones on eBay and you can build up some spare parts. It is possible to get the bezel off and then transplant parts between speedos.

All is not lost!
