CL77 - 1965 Restoration Complete Thanks to a Lot of You

Finished it today with the setting of the timing and putting fuel in the tank. It started on the 2nd kick and was idleing on it's own without choke after 30 seconds. This is probably the easiest starting bike I own or have owned - the GT750 Suzuki the only close competitor. I chose to go with NOS cables and their discoloration and all as opposed to new re-makes. The throttle cable is a new replacement because I have not yet found a new 45 year old original. Still looking... I also need to work on getting that 40+ mold release wax off of the tires. I just hate getting things wet.











I must give credit where credit is due. Ed Moore, helped with parts, advice, and enthusiasm - most significantly are the NOS speedometer, exhaust silencer, valves, coil, and fork seal holder tool. Dave and Richard gave supporting advice, Bill Orizio supplied me with a lot of new and used parts including most of the pieces needed to weld/build the correct 8-hole fender, NOS headlight stays and centerstand, along with my 40+ year old Nitto tires (a 3.00x19 is on the way Ed). Nick Fetzer at Ohio Cycle for 23 orders of NOS and pattern items and pieces!

Great job! I just started my '67 CL77 over the weekend. We're essentially the original owners (my father purchased it from the first owner in 1967), and I've had it for 25+ years

Unfortunately, I crashed it 17 years ago (2 weeks before my wedding), so I need to bring her back to riding shape.
