CL72 Alloy Fenders-Do I Paint them?

Hi Gang,<br />I just got my CL-72 ebay project. I'm so excited about this project that I'm jumping right in. I noticed that the fenders are unpainted aluminum (There is a pic of the rear). I know they are the correct fenders, but is it correct for them to be unpainted? I have seen a picture in Roy Bacons Honda book that shows a CL72 on the showroom floor that looks like it has polished out aluminum fenders. Is this right? Any second opinions out there? The very first bikes did have polished aluminum fenders. What are the frame and engine numbers of yours?. ................LM
