1967 CL77 - using K&N type cone filters on each carb. how would I go about attaching the left and right side covers on my cafe projects? Thanks in adance for any reply by knowledgable builder. I have at least on of the brackets that were used for the paper filter mountiing if that will help. Al from Mass

Side covers

You'll need both brackets to attach the side covers as they have the notches in them for the tabs on the back side of the covers to engage into.

You will have to acquire the one you're missing, RH or LH.

Let me know if you need more info.

Side covers

Glad to be of help.

Do you still have the rubber bumpers, two on each bracket to keep the side covers from rattling?

If not, I can point you in a direction to get substitutes.

Ggray, You said you had a source for the rubber sidecover bumpers. Could you be so kind as to point me in their direction? Thanks Joe

Cushion Plugs

Post by ggray » Wed Jun 04, 2008 7:37 am

Most certainly.

I could not find OEM cushions for my side covers so I looked in my Steele Rubber Products catalog and found plugs for antique cars that worked just great.

Sort of like the pull through rubber bumpers older cars used on glove box doors.

They have them in a variety of sizes and I believe I used their PN 33-0542-42,

Which has the dimensions of: 5/16 stem diameter, head diameter of 3/4" and head height of 5/16".

If you have one of your old ones, compare the above dimensions and make sure before ordering.

They're larger in diameter than the OEM ones and I had to trim a flat on one side of a couple of them to get them to clear the bracket but they work great!!

The catalog shows them as being flat nosed but the ones I received were rounded.

Here's the link: http://166.82.96.3/pdf/stem_plug2007.pdf

Hope this helps you and others looking.

Well, I tried the link after I posted it and it did not work so go to

http://166.82.96.3/homeframes.html

Click on the online catalog link and then on the link for Bumpers and Body Plugs (pdf)

That'll get ya there.
