Finally some picts of my Superhawk
Finally some picts of my SuperhawkI hope this works, havent ever tried to add picts on this forum. the only thing I've done since getting the bike last week is to give it a quick bath. I noticed some missing bolts and screws, and as you can see, the air intake boots and air cleaners are missing. Actually they are in a box somewhere in the previous owners monstrous garage, he is supposed to give them to me if/when he runs across the box. In the meantime, I was thinking of adding some pod-type cleaners. The PO also replaced the rusted out stock mufflers with some that he got from J.C. Whitney.
I noticed there are several fittings for lubrication, similar to a zerk fitting. Is there a special fitting for these? I am pointing to once such fitting at the swing are pivot. My apologies in advance if the pictures dont get added.
Hey Sarah, that is a pretty nice looking Super Hawk you have there. Congratulations on that. Good that you are looking and noticing things and I'm sure that you have noticed the chain is pretty rusty. The rest of the bike, from what I can see, looks really good though. Most that I have seen, for sale, are priced above my reach and I'm going to have to try to bring one back to life, that I picked up from a salvage. Keep us posted with your progress and how it's doing out on the road, okay? Hope you get plenty of miles out of that one.

thanks Bill, I was really lucky to find this bike. It belonged to a former neighbor, I tried to buy it from him years ago, as it was becoming quite derelict as it languished alongside his garage in those days. A few years ago he cleaned it up and got it running, drove it a few miles, and then parked it again, this time INSIDE his garage. He happens to also be my optomologist, and I happened to mention it during my last appointment. He owns several cars, bikes, quads, and is nearing 70, so he finally relented into letting it go. It has just over 5K on the clock, but he butchered up some of the wiring, lost some of the "non-essential" parts like the air filters, seat bolts, etc., but the basics are there. He cleaned the tank last time he got it running, but stored it empty, which is not a good idea in area, so its rusty again. This weekends project it to get that cleaned out and treated. I picked up a new battery this weekend, so hopefully I will get it running soon.
Judging from your list of bikes, I'm having some "garage" envy myself. Someday I would like to build a CB750 Cafe wannabe. I thought about hacking up my Savage and making a cafe bike, that big thumper could look pretty cool. But the Superhawk is going to stay stock.
grease gunHi Sarah, here's a couple of recommendations for a cheap grease gun that'll fit those fittings...If you use it on full sized zerk fittings it may not work on the little ones anymore...

Sounds like a plan, Sarah. Be looking forward to hearing how it goes.
As far the bikes I've listed, I've got to swap out the electric fuel pump, on the GPZ (it still has the Electronic Fuel Injection), as the pump quit on me. The Cb750K needs all the carbs cleaned and get it running smoothly on all cylinders and it's attached to a attached to a side car, that I'm going to take off. I MIGHT do some modifications on that one. The CB650C has some issues, mainly carbs and the things the previous owner did to it, for looks. The CB77 & CL72 are projects that I am still gathering parts for. I am looking to Cafe the Super Hawk and it wasn't very complete when I got it anyway AND had a CA77 Engine in it. The CL72 was mostly there, but in pretty sad shape. It DOES have the aluminum fenders though and they are in great shape. Need alot done and will be a very long term project. I also have a '72 SL350 that is in pretty good shape and has an excellent exhaust system. Good chance I will sell that one. Took a bit of time to come up with these. The CBX is FINE! I have a friend who has a CBX, in pieces at the moment. He bought it new. He has about 20 other bikes, but only a few that are running. Most of the bike guys I know have several, and it seems like there is always something to fix. I have the same issue, but I lost my patience this year, and found a "smokin' hot" deal on a brand spankin' new Kawi ER6n while looking for an XB9 or 12. Liquid cooled, fuel injected, I wont be doing a lot of maintenance on that one, just taking it to a local shop. I plan on riding year round on that one, so I will get started weekly at least. I was just starting to overhaul the carb on the savage when I got the 305, so I have two projects going. And then there's my business to run, a house that needs work, etc., etc. ect.. So I know I wont run out of things to do.
And that doesnt even count the car projects I have! At least you guys dont have to worry about breaking a fingernail! :D '73 CB750 bobber

Doesn't seem like you have anything to be jealous of Sarah, looks like YOU have a pretty nice collection yourself. I've got a few others that I didn't mention as they aren't running and/or need quite a bit of work AND some parts. I'm kinda bad about picking up an old bike in about ANY condition like some folks pick up stray dogs and cats ( I used to be bad about that too! LOL! But, ya got me, on the new one. In a my time, I have never had a new bike and the newest one is the 1983 Kawasaki GPZ1100. And you are absolutely right, we don't have to worry about breaking a finger nail. Sounds like you are one busy lady and quite capable. Working Toward Being Able To Work On MY Motorcycle Projects (Trying To Get Past "Other" Projects & I Think I Am Making Progress?
