Hello everyone,
My Father is restoring a 1961 Honda CB72 and is missing a couple of the critical parts, he's not fantastic on using Forums so I'm trying to help with the search here. He has a couple of other 72's that he's owned for 45 years one a 64 standard and the other with all the correct CYB parts fitted.
He is after a rear wheel hub/ drum he has the correct back plate but not the hub. He thinks the bike was probably raced early in it's life so many parts were changed but it has the correct tower breather engine and the short CYB seat.
If anyone has any bits spare or knows where to maybe locate some 61 parts please get in touch,
Best Regards
AH
1961 CB72 restoration some parts neededHi AH
Welcome to the forum. Please put your location in your profile. You may find help nearby. I have been restoring a very ratty '61 CB72 for the last couple of years and have a thread on this forum. http://www.honda305.com/forums/1961-cb7 ... 34421.html You are in good company searching for an early hub. They are very hard to find. My bike had been modified in its early years and lost both hubs to later ones. The rear hub has a different brake drum liner and the way the brake fits is different. Early brake drum Late Brake drum Different brake plates There is also a diameter difference so if you can modify a late hub there will still be a gap. Good luck with the restoration and post some pics when you can. G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72
