Only their addictive qualities! Welcome to the forum.

Seriously, though: they have some weaknesses, all of which can be addressed with time, money and dedication. All info is here to be found, but you need to start from the early posts and scan through. There's a useful word or phrase search facility here.

Main problem areas can be:
  • jumping out of 2nd gear (fixable but it's motor out -- or turn the machine upside down!)
poor charging system (easily and inexpensively remedied)
    tyres are getting to be short in supply in 2.75 x 18 (f) & 3.00 x 18 (r) with a period tread pattern
available parts have become more expensive, mainly owing to the renewed interest & popularity of the CB77

Welcome to the forum.

Here are a few things to look for when dealing for one.

-Kick stands: They were prone to breaking. Replacement stands can be a bit pricey in the 50 to 75 pound range off of ebay.
-Cut front fenders: It's hard to find a CB77 with an intact front fender these days. Replacement fenders vary between 50 to 100 pounds depending on condition.
-proper exhausts: Lots of exhausts were replaced with aftermarket types. A used exhaust usually starts in the 100 pound range and goes way up dependent on condition.

Those are the main money spending items that should be with the bike that aren't always noticed. Of course, if the motor is locked, the bike should be 50% less than a running bike or more. I'm not sure what prices entire bikes are getting over their, but in the US, they tend to top out at around $4k-$5k for a completely original bike in great condition. Parts bikes can be as low as $200 and running bikes start at around $1000.

Good luck with the search. Post some pics up when you find one.
