CB77 Sidestand

Post by phactory » Sat Jan 16, 2010 6:21 pm

Does anyone have some good pics of an OEM sidestand mounted on their CB77? Just some decent closeups would be great.

TIA, Phil

So no one on this list has a sidestand mounted on their CB77? Wow! Well when I get mine and get it mounted I will be sure to post some pics!

Phil,

I would be interested in seeing the photos! I have a side-stand but it isn't mounted yet (it needs a bit of work to eliminate some slop and the resulting severe lean of the bike). Is your stand a Honda or aftermarket--mine is aftermarket.

Looking forward to your pics.

Leave it to Vinny to come to the rescue......

Now, let me point out that this is a period aftermarket ROCKY brand sidestand, but I'm sure the mounting is the same. The side stand uses the lower rear motor mount and the center stand mount, in case you can’t tell from the photos.

Short of turning the bike upside down, these are the best shots I could get while laying on my back.

Boy, the things I do!

would work much better if you took it off the bike and took it to a shop and made about 20 copies???

Hi,

It's not the stand itself (you can use one from a C77 which are common, but the bracket its the problem. I have made a few already, boroughed one (thanks Fred), made a negative, then a positive, etc. Found that cast aluminium broke off easily, cast iron having a way too high melting point for doint it at home, I decided to put it in solid edge, wich can feed the CNC machine.

Made mine of aluminium, strong, light and easy to machine fast.

If more than 20 people are SERIOUSLY interested I would consider make another batch of brackets.
Last time I made a batch of CYB engine bolts (for the steering damper), people who where interested
weren't really interested.
