New member, and proud owner of a 64 CB77

Post by smithenhiven » Sun Nov 26, 2006 4:33 pm

Hello everyone.

My name's Jason, I'm 23, from Pittsburgh PA. After looking for close to a year, I just bought my first classic/antique Honda Motorcycle, a 1964 Honda CB77. It needs a complete restoration, but I'm up for the task. I plan to make a thread in the restoration section for everyone to follow if you wish.

I've been looking for a "64" CB77 specifically, because that's the year of my antique Honda car (S600), and thought it would be neat to have a car, and a bike from the same year.

Anyway, I'm glad I found this site, and I look forward to reading all the information and learning all that I can about these wonderful bikes, as well as chatting with all you members.

Jason.

Welcome, Jason. I'm finding that restoring these can be a fully absorbing project. Sharing our experiences is one of the great values of this group. I'm hoping to ride mine to the Honda Hoot next summer - perhaps we'll get to ride.

Thanks for the welcome Bob.

I know what you mean, I've just barely scratched the serface of my restoration, and I can already tell that I'm going to be into something deep. I'm just glad parts seem to be readily available, and are for the most part affordable (compare that to my S600 restoration, where parts are very hard to find, and when they are found, they're very expensive).

I haven't heard of the Honda Hoot, maybe you can give me some more information on that, or a link to a website? I don't think my CB77 will be done by next summer, but I would still like to attend.

Jason.

Hi Jason, Welcome to honda305.com!

I'd love to see a few photos of your rare and very interesting s600! I'd bet not too many of them are around and very few people have seen one live.

An S600 thread in the Restorations section would be of great interest to many.

Michael

Hi Michael, I took your advice and created a thread about my S600 in the restoration section.

Jason.
