CP77

Post by ducinnc » Tue Sep 05, 2006 7:36 am

I have just picked up a 64 CP77.
Can someone tell me the difference between this superhawk and a CB77 Superhawk?
Does anyone know which one is more sought after or rare?
This bike is in excellent shape...actually bought it from the original owner!! and has 14573 miles on it.

I have some other vintage bikes but just getting into this model and don't know alot about them yet.
Thanks

Duc, you've probably figured this all out by now, but if not...the CP77 was a "foreign" variant of the CB77, for sale outside the US. Only differences are that the CP77 has winkers (CB77 doesn't), a different shaped brake light (trapezoidal), a side stand, and fixed footpegs (as opposed to folding). Good luck with it. I found a CP77 in a garage last year and had a great time rebuilding it. I highly recommend buying Bill Silver's CD with a ton of useful information. I wouldn't have succeeded without it.
