I bought a 1966 CB77 - in many pieces.
After a while, I realized the front fender is from a Scrambler; the front end of the fender is
chopped short, and the top bracket modified to fit the Superhawk. I'm trying to figure out
what the washers in the photo are for. (I'm pretty sure I have a 4th washer.) They are
5.16 i.d., 15.8 o.d., 1.4 thk., chrome plated. Is it possible they are to fasten the front fender
to the top bracket? Seems like not a great idea, because the edges of the washer would sit
pretty high off the curved surface of the fender.
The nut is the petcock bonnet nut (19 mm flats). The material / finish on mine are
brass / heavy black tarnish. What are the original material / finish?
I don't have the slightest clue what the large sheet metal bracket is for - I see no place on
the bike where it would fit. What is it for?
The steering damper spring is pretty distorted, which does not show up well in the photo.
Looks like there might be an intentional downward bend opposite the anti-rotation tab, but
I can't tell for sure. It would be great if someone could post a photo showing the correct
shape of the spring.
Thanks, Phil

Randy,
Thanks very much for your post. I guess I'll put the Dream tool tray/battery holder up for sale on this web site and/or ebay. Are C77 and CA77 the model numbers for Dreams? Photo showing my front fender below. It was a lot of work and money. Counting the mounting hardware, I have about $500 into it. It is CHERRY. I know it's not correct, but I've grown kind of fond of it. I'd consider a swap for a CHERRY correct fender, or some other kind of break-even deal.
