I don't recall any screens in the banjos, only the petcock which is clear & there is a new one in the fuel-bowl.

Until 1967 the banjo bolts came with screen.
1967 HONDA discontinued the screen. .................lm

Well, a bit of a storey!!
What I CAN say is that it now goes like a pocket-rocket, instantly & freely winds up to 10,000 rpm!!
BUT, there were some errors made by me, first off, when I re-built the carbs, I found that the main jets had a slightly different thread-form & would not fit, so assuming ( wrongly) that they were ok anyway, I re-fitted them.
The original floats were dust, so replacements ordered & fitted, but NOT AT THE SAME TIME!!
Upon stripping down today, I noticed the the floats were different diameters!!
One was 28mm, the other 32mm! EH???
Checked the main-jets & found that they had no numbers, the NEW jets (the ones that wouldn't fit) had a 1.3mm bore, the old (original)? were only 1.1mm, so I thought I'd risk it & bored the old ones out to 1.3mm to match the new 135s.
2 new 32mm floats were fitted, set to 22.5mm
All reassembled, fingers crossed, turn on, press the button, BAM, instant start & ran very smooth & even, took it round the block, & it was off like a good-un, max revs in all gears, no smoke, & returned to a nice tickover.

So thanks to all for your help.

Only concern now is it rattles like a bag of nails 'upstairs' , cammy, tappety?? all check out ok however.
