Hi Folks
I have just restored and rebuilt a 1965 305 CB77 SH. Started no problem. Then the electric starter kept engaging as the button spring assembly was not the best. I smelled smoke so I switched off immediately. I have re-paired the starter button but now have no electrics when I switch on the ignition.?
I have replaced the main fuse and even by passed it with a wire but no electrics at all.?
Can anyone comment / help please.
Best Regards
Les

Hello Mike from Idaho
Thankyou. You were 99% spot on. What I did was to have an external battery with jump leads as I thought it might require a long few engine turn overs to get the 305 started. Not so. But as the starter kept engaging and something burnt out it was actually one of the jump lead terminals that had burnt out. Your advice was an excellent tracer. Thankyou. Once I re-terminated the jumper cable the lights all came on. I still have an issue with the starter button control but I think that is fixable with a re-redress and the headlight issues are wiring related or the sealed beam unit is burnt out. I very much appreciate your input. My stable is 1956 Norton 99 600cc fully restored CB72 1966 fully restored.
