My rebuild is stalled on a troublesome problem.
My 66 Superhawk runs fine on the right cylinder. But I get no spark on the left. No spark at contact point, or anywhere on the left. Wires are all checked out, I reversed the coils and no left spark. Spark plug wires are good as are the plugs. Gap is correct on plugs.
Any ideas?
No spark on the left sidePerhaps look carefully at your points plate and points on that side. Make sure your contacts are"contacting" evenly straight across the surface of the points by using a points file or wet sand paper. Make sure the plate is where it should be also. Check for power at the lug when it is open.Good luck.

2002 BMW R1150GS Go through the whole circuit, comparing left with right. Check voltages at each point to see where the voltage at the left side disappears. You either have an open circuit somewhere or a short to ground on that side.
As Eleef said, check the physical setup and condition of the points. Compare the good circuit with the bad one. G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72
