CB77 - No return to low throttle ?CB77 - No return to low throttle ?On the subject of advance problems. My CB77 sometimes fails to return to low throttle during shifting, scary in traffic! Starts on first button push and idles well. After warming up if given throttle it sometimes continues to rev ( tach out for repair) high. Turning the key off and immediately restarting and its back at idle. Have checked the carb slides when not running, sticking my finger in the throats, and they are down on the idle screw. Cycle throttle numerous times with same result. I don’t think they are sticking. About 100 miles since complete overhaul. Rotating the points cam is difficult and the springs don’t snap it back sharply like my Dream. Comments are welcomed.
Re: CB77 - No return to low throttle ?A few thoughts. Have you checked the routing and function of the throttle cable? Routing can be a lot more important than you might think. Also the nuts holding on the carbs are touchy about the about the amount of torque. Too much can cause them to bind. Have you had the carbs off or apart lately? Have you checked the carb springs for adequate tension?
Re: CB77 - No return to low throttle ?This is weird but my CB77 did the same thing today. Twice. I had taken it out for a several mile run and it was warmed up. I gave it a little throttle but it suddenly revved really high. I jostled the throttle and it returned to idle. Did it again a few minutes later as I pulled into the garage. It has never done this before but this was probably only the second ride where it has been thoroughly warmed up. Have you had any insight into what might be causing this problem?
