I thought I would mount my CB77 footrests in the second position but on the RHS I found that the rear brake cable clashed with the swinging arm grease nipple. I could not see an obvious solution...... any ideas?

Footrest positioningGrease nippleThese grease nipples just push or press in, getting them out without damage isn't that easy, you could try grabbing it with a small drill chuck? New ones are still available and aren't expensive.
You need to have the swinging arm bolt installed from the LEFT hand side of the engine with the self locking nut on the RIGHT hand side. If you have it in from the wrong side the nut probably will foul the footrest assembly or brake cable. Just a thought and worth checking.
