I subscribed to Vintage Japanese Motorcycle magazine a couple of years ago and one of the first things I noticed was the CMS ad on the back cover. Their ads always have a woman on a bike which in itself wouldn't bother me. The thing is, these ads look more like calendars that I used to see in the back rooms of gas stations in the 60s. The woman is always dressed in ridiculous clothing, has heavy makeup and has a vapid look on her face that would leave one to believe that the motorcycle is more intelligent and aware than she is.
These models may well be Ph.D. students at Radboud University Nijmegen but everything is done to make them look submissive and stupid. I don't find this sexy and if anything, makes me a bit reticent to buy from CMS. It also makes me wonder how far we have come since our CB72/77s were made. Surely CMS and VJMC could do better.

It's been nagging me since my first issue but something I have been uncomfortable with for a long time. My latest issue arrived yesterday and spurred me into finally writing this rant.
Pictures like these, in my opinion, portray women as objects and suppress the fact that they are intelligent, capable human beings just as men are. Perhaps the worst part is that CMS think, perhaps know, that this type of portrayal will increase their sales. I think I'm better than that. And, I know a number of women who not only would be insulted but would also be disappointed in me if I were to defend these ads. They suggest that women exist only to service men but that they are incapable of anything else. That's the submissive and stupid part that I referred to.
I don't know any man who would admit to being swayed by ads like this but I do find the fact that CMS clearly find them useful, disturbing. It's this attitude that allows Donald Trump, from his position of power, to grab womens' genitals without permission, boast about it, and not pay for it at the polls. Can't we do better?

As far as I'm concerned this crosses many lines of adult opinion and I disagree WITH EVERYTHING YOU BROUGHT.
THE DIFFERENCE IS I DON'T DO AS YOU DID BUT THAT DOESN'T MAKE ME AFRAID TO TELL YOU SO!. ................LM

i just got a small package from CMS last month, their shipping, while high, is amazing. four days after i placed the order, in my hands. Loud Mouse is faster, but he is two states away. four days from the Netherlands, not sure how they did that. i have gotten packages from Canada that have taken two weeks, with high shipping prices. oh, i have no problem with their advertising, showed it to my wife, she didn't either.
