Flat Tire !!!!!

Post by OldStan » Tue Aug 11, 2015 10:55 am

Went for a ride yesterday afternoon and picked up a nail. Never had one do this before! In fact the last flat I had on a motorcycle was in the 60's.

Probably won't patch this tube. Hopefully the tire isn't ruined with the hole in the sidewall. I'll take a good look when I get it off.

It wouldn't be so bad, but when I got up yesterday morning I was going to take a ride on my bicycle and it had a flat! The tube blew out on the inner side against the rim. I'd just put in a tire liners and a new tube on the other tire two days before because I've had trouble with burr weeds puncturing the tires.

Oldstan

That's a real bummer. I had a nail go right in the sidewall of a brand new TT100 when I was an impoverished engineering student. It ripped a slot in the sidewall about 2 inches long...... :-(

It could have been worse, unlike yours, the tire wasn't torn. The tube was destroyed, tears in two place. It's back on the road. Gave the chain a good clean and lube while it was off. At least the wheel and chain are easy to get off and on.
