Sidestand

Post by R100 » Sun Jul 13, 2014 12:29 pm

Had no replies about the E-Bay exhaust headers so I guess no one has tried them.

I am also wondering about newly manufactured sidestands from Thailand. Has anyone got experience with those?

If they are badly made or junk metal they could develop a crack and down goes your bike.

R100

I have some David Silver repro pipes which seem OK. Heavier gauge metal to compensate for the fact that they are not double skinned. The bend is not as good as genuine Honda but they are like rocking-horse manure now.

As for the stand. It looks OK - not used one, though.

Aftermarket headers

Post by conbs » Mon Jul 14, 2014 12:26 pm

I did buy some of the aftermarket headers for the Dream. The metal is much thinner than OEM and the chrome is not as good either (but not too bad). I have not put them on a bike yet. I think they would last for a while and look better than the dented, rusted ones they would replace.

R100 Only just seen this posting I purchased one of the side stands, kick stands as you Americans/Canadians call them I understand it fitted ok with a little fiddling with some washers to angle the stand downwards (if that make sense) so as to clear the the muffler when flipped up, you will need longer center stand bolts.

Thanks for the reply.
Sounds like yours hasn't broken and dropped your bike.
Do you recall who you bought yours from?
(Canadians call them side stands.)
