CB77 Handlebars

Hey all,

I'm trying to replace the bars that came on the bike but I don't know if they're stock or not. While lying upside down, the following measurements are:

length end-to-end, as the crow flies: 28.0"
length end-to-end, taking the long route: ~35"
rise from floor to center of bar at highest point: 5-1.4"
knurl length: 4-3/4"
O.D. at bar end: 7/8"
center reinforced piece: 3-1/16"
center cutout length: 1-1/8"

Is this the stock hi-rise bar?

Gracias

Looks like the hi-riser 'bar, Canadian CP77 aside (see pic). There was an intermediate height (see pic) between yours, there, and the more popular European flat 'bar.

Risers look 'orrible (JMHO) but provide a much more comfortable riding position.

I have REALLY high bars on my bike - practically ape-hangers. Talk about unsightly- they're ridiculous. I'd planned to replace them with a flat bar from Tim McDowell.
I just bought a second '65 with the 'Serpico" bars and I think they look aces. Can those be found anywhere? I'd love to have them on both bikes.
Also- if I DO manage to find them, with the cables I bought from Tim McDowell for the flat bars still work or will they be too short? Doesn't seem like that much of a difference in rise but it might be enough to make the difference. Anyone know?

I like those on the right. I really don't like those on the left.

Cables will be too short.

As Davo states, the cables will be too short. The different handlebar heights require a fairly substantial change in control cables' lengths. Even a 50mm shortage in length will make the cable routing awkward, if not nigh-on impossible.

So just standard cable length for those low-rise bars then?

Hmmm, "standard" huh? That old castaña!

Somewhere on The Forum I, and others, have posted some measurements of differing types of cables. I'll search and rescue for you, sometime today.
