New to the forum and to the superhawk

Post by sean wyett » Thu Dec 16, 2010 11:38 am

Hey, All, I recently became the owner of what I believe is a 1965 superhawk. Stamping says
CB77-etc etc. and I am in need of some insider info on who is a good source for a few items/parts.

I need a complete set of cables -both brakes, clutch, tach and speedo. a seat or a seat pan. There's dude on ebay that wants like $700.00 for a seat! Something from thailand for $70.00 that's a price difference! Levers and perches and the oval gasket that goes under the speedometer and air filters.

This is a whole new kettle of fish for me. I know Mopars and 914s so I'm really lost as far as years, interchange-ablity, parts sourcing. Basically I'm at the bottom of the learning curve any help will be most appreciated. Thanks for reading a post from someone out of the loop.

I attached a photo of the bike. I do have the mufflers and what I believe is a scrambler front fender.

Welcome to the forum!

Where are you located?..You will get a lot more feedback if you add your location to your profile, and you might find someone else with the same interest is close.

Try this for parts suppliers:

Sean, welcome to the forum. You'll find lots of links for suppliers, just start reading through some of the posts. I have had good luck with Retrobikes for cables and other parts. Look, and post in the forums' classified section as well. We (well most of us) were all new at this at one time, so use patience and read the existing posts on whatever subject fits. If you can't find the answer here, you won't find it anywhere. Good luck and nice score on the SH. Where ya from?.....................................D

Sean, you will have good results in searching if you use the yellow search button second from the bottom on the left of the screen.

welcome to the forum and congrats on the purchase. If you look in the superhawk section, there's a thread that has links to all the places to purchase parts.

How about some insider info on this?

A friend just got it and is trying to sell or trade it to me.

Thanks Everyone for the responses! I live and work up in Boise Idaho. I'll begin searching and researching with the pointers you offered. So far I'm digging the bike. As I make progress I'll post more pics (and better ones) first order of business, a Manual! Thanks again members!

Sean
