CL77 Valve adjustment

Post by britman » Tue Jan 22, 2008 5:21 pm

I have searched the FAQ and past threads looking for simple instructions on valve adjustment for my CL77. The only reference book I have at present is a copy of the owners manual. The instructions are vague at the least. (Align with the T mark at TDC and set at .004-006 for both intake and exhaust.) What is the sequence of adjustment, both intake or opposite exhaust. I am used to old British where you put the bike in 4th gear, pull the plugs, and adjust the intake first by watching which valve is open and adjusting the closed valve on the cam, then move on to exhaust with the same procedure. Anybody help an old guy out with instructions. I will order a full manual this weekend, I promise. By the way, the ED Moore Special Tuning Recipe in the FAQ is great.

With rotor at "T" adjust both right side valves.
Crank engine 180 degrees to "LT" and adjust the left side. ..........lm
