Tim, maybe you need a safe space to decompress after the VJMC magazine arrives. You can ask your wife to cut out the offending page while you cower with a coloring book or play-doh. The pictures do have an old garage calendar look to them. I believe that's a harkening back to a simpler time, like when most of our bikes were new. Offensive? What's offensive about pretty women? The women in the CMS ads are not offensive at all. They are clothed and look more like 50's curb hops than something sleazy like you're implying. I've worked the VJMC tents at Mid-Ohio and Barber for the last few years and we use her as a selling point for memberships. "Sign up today and this young lady will come to your mailbox every other month." I don't remember anyone ever being offended by this. Did you recoil in horror when the A&W girl skated up to your window in short shorts to take your order back in the 50's? I kinda enjoyed it. You may be overthinking this matter!

Before this goes too far let me say that this is just a statement of opinion and not a call to arms. This opinion comes from more than a few decades of life experience which included more than a few challenges to my world view from people who I respected to various degrees. Some were women, some were men. It's those challenges that have been most useful to me and helped me me to change my beliefs. Believe me, I wouldn't have written anything like this in the 70s.

There is no intent to offend. Hell, I don't know any of you except through this forum and pissing people off is no way to convince them of anything. If no one responded that would have been fine. My only hope was that it be read and provoke some thought.

So, it's a nice day, about -2℃, and I'm going for a walk in the woods.

If "provoke some thought" was your idea.
