new guy here, wanted to just share some pics and info ...
sounds familiar...Hey hill, nice to have you, welcome aboard, your story sounds just like my own,, the gentleman ( and i'm using that term loosely, he was a total nut job) i bought my bikes off of ( 65 cb 77 and 64 ca 77 305) had 75 bikes registered to him ( i know because i had my cop buddy run his vin's as he lost the title's) and he had barn's full of crap .. although the deal was good for me in the long run, he was brutal to deal with or even be around for that matter... but it does leave one wondering , what great stuff is out there in the barns across the world... oh well,, best of luck to you,,, TTFN... NICK
Wecome Hill. You'll find a lot of good info here and a lot of helpful folks. And it's a nice bunch to boot.
I love seeing things like this. People think that the treasures are all found but believe, these stashes still abound. All you have to do is go for a Sunday drive in the country and look at all farms that no longer farm but are littered with equipment and other stuff. Who know's what's in those buildings?? I went to look at a Guzzi on my way to W. Va once. The bike was in PA. Guy ran a repair shop and when we talked on the phone, he said he had a lot of old bikes. To make a long story short, it was the same deal. Guy had busses, trailers, old building and all were packed with bikes. His Dad was a dealer at one point and in what was the main building (just littered with junk and bike parts) was a new, never registers Ducati 900SS. He said his brother rode it with dealer plates and died a year or so after. It' never moved off the floor after that. They can't find the MSO. I tried to buy it, but the guy was not really keen on selling it. My buddy Lance has at least 40 bikes in the chicken coop across from his old shop. The hard part is not finding the stashes. It's getting the stashee to part with anything. Nice find!! regards, Rob
hey thanx agin for the welcomes!
i love to hear the treasure find stories and it was like a dream going there. i found my cb77 on ebay, he had posted a few of his nicest bikes, luckily it was near my hometown so i picked it up inperson and then he gave us that tour of all his bikes. i just talked to him again and i'm going to try and buy another cb77 in parts from him. it's funny though. the guy said he rebuilt the top end of my bike with new rings and all, he said it wouldn't be too hard to start it up, the catch was he rebuilt the top end years ago and NEVER TRIED TO START IT! haha it blew my mind, he must be the most A.D.D. person in the world. but he wasn't unpleasant, he was nice and really wanted to just show off his collection. he is willing to part wither everything though. i think he is over it. if anyone needs ca77 parts or cb77 parts let me know and i'll see what i can get from him and at what price. -hill
