how would you say the handling is with the 100/90 90/90 config. compared with the stock? Also, Is it necessary to upgrade rims from stock when using the tires you mentioned?

Handling is excellent, new tires are so much stickier than the old tread patterns. A pro road racer friend road my cafe last week, and was blown away at how well it handled. If you put too large of a tire, on too samll of a rim, it messes up the profile of the tire. I'm sure the handling would be just as goo with a 90/90 rear, and a 80/80 or 80/90 front. The only problem is that these sizes are really hard to find here. They can be ordered from web sires in th U.K., shipping is expensive!

I ordered Cheng Shin Hi-Max C907 90/90 for the rear and Cheng Shin Hi-Max C906 90/90 for the front. both tubeless but I got tubes until I upgrade rims. They are a modern tread design and seem similar to the Avons,

I look forward to a good ride. Thanks

I had those tires on a CB77 that I sold last year. They work pretty well. Good luck with your Superhawk.

Hi all, my first post on this forum.

I've been trying to find out what folks are using for tires on CL77s, as I'm limited because of the 19" rims. Are there any modern tires in a 90/90-19 front and 100/90-19 rear that don't get too spendy?

I like the Cheng Shin c907s, but they don't come in 19. The Bridgestone S11s look good, but they don't make a 19 rear. Arrgh. May have to settle for a Cheng C180 3.50-19. Any fit problems with a 3.50 rear on a CL77?

have you tried to use bikebandit.com. they have a tire section where you can make your choices based on street/off road, then diameter, then size---eventually getting to tires that are available through them anyway. you might see some choices you like

http://www.tiresunlimited.com/ALL%20TIR ... master.htm

I bought Avon Speedmaster and SM II tires (3.25 front, 3.50 rear) from Tires Unlimitedfor my CL77 and they work fine. Check out the website above (couldn't get it to link)
