CHECK OUT THIS BIKE FOR CORRECTNESS "CL77 HONDA"

Somebody said that this is really a '66 model. I know the date on the wiring harness is the normal guide. But can the actual model year be determined from the serial number based on what assembled knowledge there is on these bikes? I know that the model year used with DMV is not necessarily the true model year due to left overs being sold 2 or 3 years after they were made.

My '67 is a 105 serial number, so I would have to take back my chrome fender comment and agree that painted is correct for this bike. So, if this is really a '66, some of the other "imperfections" mentions might actually be correct, right?

Too many people get hung up on 'the year' of their motorcycle. That's a Department of Motor Vehicle issue. It has nothing to do with the equipment that the bike was produced with by Honda. Honda built these bikes and did so in sequential order. They made changes as they went and documented them by serial number. I stand by my reply. For the serial number listed in the ebay auction it should and should not have the items I mentioned. -Gopher

You've all done really well.
Using the frame numbers he gives I'd date it as a 1966.
However many things like, Tank, Head Light Chrome, Tail Light, Rider Rubber Pegs, Passenger Pegs, Gators (no chrome clamps), tappet covers came later and I usually refer to them as 1967 issues.
Ya missed the early style Clutch Cover and the wrong screw at the top right of the filter cover, lock washers at the exhaust joint, cotter pin at the front brake lever where cable attaches at hub area, bolt safety not bent at front brake stopper arm.
As I know the seats only the very last/few came with the silver welt.
Ya did get the 3 wire/cable routings, front brake perch/cable, missing fender/head light washers, wrong rear fender bolt, kick lever index, rear axle from wrong side, damage to LS of front fender stay.
I think what ya saw and the couple of items I added the info is fairly complete.

I'm guessing the spoke on the upper right of the photo in the vertical position. Looks rather tarnished or corroded.
