What to look for

Post by Bob15 » Mon Jun 29, 2015 2:41 pm

Hi all,
I'm new here and am looking for a 305 Dream and need some suggestions on what to look or look out for as I search. I'm looking for a good running example that may need some freshening or light restoration but don't want to fall in a trap of someone else's problems and mistakes.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Bob

I always start my searches with the basic stuff that you'd look for when looking for any other motorcycle.

Does it run? Does it run well? Use your T-CLOCS, how are the tires, the brakes, do all electronics work? Miles are fairly arbitrary depending what's been done to it or hasn't been done if that's the case. Is the motor stuck? Has it sat out in the rain forever? Things cost time and money.

High dollar a 305 Dream is like $3-$4000 where I'm from (midwest), but that's like top notch dream. Otherwise they're a dime a dozen around here for $500-$1000 each that need some TLC or rebuilding.
