Breather tube

Post by Woodsie » Fri Apr 24, 2015 11:14 am

the breather tube that comes down from the top of the engine lays down in the valley between cyliners and transmission. Is this where it is supposed to terminate? The parts diagram shows two vent fittings that also hold the two spark plug leads, should there be tubes attached to these? Thanks

What bike?

What bike are you working on?

If it is a Dream, the end of the tube from the top cover should stick into the hole the goes out into the right engine side cover. IIRC the original idea was that oil vapors would condense in the tube and lubricate the drive chain (sort of). There were no real emissions concerns back in the day.

The other two "vents' had clear tubes that went back into the air cleaner. Honda apparently discontinued those vents on later models because they didn't really work.

I hope that helps.
