Yes they do have a rather cheap, shiny, "bling" look that needs knocking back.

I'm sure you could do that with your skill and milling machine (I saw your oil pump mod.), but I'm just a woodworker with a shaky bench-top drill press.
I might just look for some nice 10mm mirrors.

Well, yes, I could knock something up pretty quickly, but as you say, I have some nice workshop tools... :-)

I am actually having the exact same issue. My set does not have the black rubber on them though. I made sure to get aftermarket mirrors that would thread into the stock mount which apparently is now the wrong size. :/
