Introductions

Post by Buddy Stark » Sun Aug 31, 2014 4:26 pm

I have seen several places that have said to introduce myself, so here is the best place I have found! I have always worked on cars, but got out of that several years back. A couple of weeks ago I had the chance to pick up a Honda CB175 pretty cheap and did so. This week, I had the chance to get a 1966 305 Honda Dream with 524 original miles! It has set in storage between the last two owners since the early 70s. Now that I have these 2, I want more more more MORE! These things are great therapy! Nice site by the way, thank you for all of the information and I hope there is someone close to trade with when I need something or vice versa! Erie Kansas is in the Southeastern corner of the state. please move this to the appropriate place!

Yellow Paint

Post by conbs » Thu Sep 18, 2014 1:43 pm

Look on both rims and the brake arms for dabs of yellow paint. I have gotten conflicting opinions but, the better view seems to be that it was put on at the factory and removed by the dealer at the 4,000 mile service. This was confirmed by a guy who used to own a dealership and a mechanic who serviced them back in the day.

I have a 3300 original mile bike that still has those paint dabs (I mostly removed the one on the front rim when detailing, not knowing what it was). I am not sure if they were put anywhere else on the bike.

Sweet find on your bike. I assume you will keep it original.
