1965 CA77 Dream Tail Light Lens Screws...

Post by rzgkane » Thu Apr 05, 2012 10:05 pm

So let me guess, the 3 x 60mm screws that hold the tail light lens to the housing are JIS too?

Delete post. Sorry. This site keeps double posting and I don't know why. What I have to say is often not important enough to say twice!

I'm tempted to just retap them as I go and forget all this JIS nonsense.

Hi,

I found that both are existing depending on what year your tail light is made.
According to my information and experience Honda changed this between 1966 en 1967.

My CB67 has M3, all other earlier tail lights have JIS. My bomber has JIS (66).

I bought new ones at .5 pitch and ran them through a M3x.6 die. Worked fine and didn't sacrifice the threads in the taillight housing. Can't remember why I thought that was important; you could just ram the .5's in there and don't tell anybody:)

That thought has crossed my mind more than once. :-) I'm way too anal for it, though. Fast Fred came through with his last 3 x 60 x .6. Thanks Fred.
