ScramblersScramblersHi everyone. I'm new here, just discovered this forum while searching for possible destinations for a pair of '63 305 scramblers I have owned for a few decades. They are in various states of disassembly, but there definitely are sufficient parts to assemble at least one running bike because I had done just that many moons ago. I'm not expecting to get rich off them or anything, but would rather sell them to someone who wants/needs them than just junk them. They're in my brother's garage and he wants them to not be there any more, so the pressure is on. Said garage is in eastern Massachusetts, not too far from Boston. I've asked him to take some pictures of the current state of affairs so I can put them up on here, in case anyone is sniffing around for some (or all) of what's in there. Hopefully the pix will appear tomorrow.
Anyone interested? Check with your Dept of Motor Vehicles. Here in California they only keep records 7 years after the last activity (registration.) Here you wouldn't be able to get a duplicate title.
On the plus side, here it simply takes a phone call to the Highway Patrol to check out the VIN's (engine and frame) to see if their listed as stolen. If not, a bill of sale is all that is needed. I'd check and see if the procedure is the same in your state and advise any prospective buyer. I went through a few extra steps when I got mine, but was informed by the Highway Patrol that this was all that was necessary. After the bike is running an official VIN verification can be done and it can be registered. 63 CA78
