TIRE RESEARCH

Post by Grant » Thu Aug 04, 2011 2:05 pm

I have a 65 Dream, tires in good shape but I'm pretty sure 3.0x16 using these same rims, how large can I go. Can I gain any heigth as I am 6'4".
If I stay with what I have I need new tubes. Source?
Any thoughts or suggestions. I saw a photo of a dream with much wider tires than mine. Live at beach, wider could be good. Any overall advice?

3.25-16 is the stock size...getting very hard to find.

The following sizes have been reported to work, and there are several posts on the topic of Dream tires with pics if you do a search:

3.50-16
100/90-16
100/80-16
110/80-16
90/90-16

There at least one member on the forum who sells tires and tubes:

You can easily fit 3.50x16 in there. I sold my Heidenau distributor out of 3.50x16 tires but we should be back in stock in 3 weeks or so. Other metric size tires will work also but it pretty much depends on what you want your tread pattern to look like.
