While degreasing the motor yesterday, I removed the tool pouch for the first time and a piece of paper fluttered to the ground (landed in a puddle). I carefully unfolded it and found an old North Carolina registration :) from 1974-75.
Bike: 1966 red CB77 (reg. says 1969 incorrectly).
Frame: 1049722, Engine: 1049747
Registrant: WMD Jr. (name withheld for privacy) of Dunn, NC.
If you're on this forum, please get in touch with me here or on Facebook.
btw ... the registration cost was $6.00 ... sheesh!
Found an old registration. Is the owner here?

I just finished reading the thread on tool-kits and after LM's comments I decided to go check mine out.
Guess what fell out ... another registration from the same PO! This one was an original 20-day temporary registration from North Carolina. It shows original date of sale, dealership, salesman, insurance company and policy number, and the PO's address. What I find fascinating is that the scoot was sold as a 1969 when the wiring harness tag and s/n's are clearly 1966. Date of sale: 4-25-70. I guess if I was into provenance, I could research. But it's pretty fun anyway. Dana

When I bought my dream the title had not been transferred to the person I bought it from. I looked up the name on the title in the white pages an found the guy still lived in the same place after 20 years. I contacted him and he was kind enough to help me get the bike titled in my name. He would probably get a kick out of seeing his old bike. Careful though, he might want to buy it back!
