Hi, need to rebuild my ca77 speedometer, how did you remove the front bezel off the old one, without breaking the glass. Thanks for the help

Hi rick,

I did a search and found a thread on this site with details, but I just used a small-ish flatblade screwdriver and pried around the bezel on the backside where it folds over the housing - straightening out the entire bent over portion until it made a gap all the way around that I could fit over the housing lip. It took a little time, and I had to be patient and careful, but it went OK.

Hi Fantastic, thanks a lot, got the bezel off with no breakage. Could you tell me how to check the speedometer to make sure it works before I re-install. Again, thanks for the help.

Hi rick,

I used a square drive "screwdriver" head in a drill extension socket. It'll spin the thing and get the needle moving, but that's about all I can confirm.

just this and spun by hand at first to make sure everything was free to move, and that I had the correct direction of rotation.

Hi Captain, how did you get a nice looking crimp when reassembling the bezel to the speedometer? Thanks again for the help
