I have a CB160 Sport with the exact same problem.
I have not had time to actually fix it yet, but have done the research for this projuct.
Over time the clutch plates gunk up and stick. If they will not
release, you must take them apart and clean them off. The
steel plates will be easy to clean, but the friction plates may need to be replaced. (I bought new ones as I do not want to
have any redo) Also new springs would not be a bad idea, but
the old one should work, unless clutch was slipping.
Another tip: Purchase a set of Stainless screws for your bike.
They are great and look great!

I've got a late (68-69) Dream Touring that has been in storage under the work bench since it tried to kill me for the third time back ~1976. We've decided to upgrade our fifth wheel camper and I think the old Dream is going to be part of the "Toy Exchange" program along with my '94 Miata Roadster.

Anyway ... I had a neighbor who has ~ a dozen bikes (including a Dream) come over and look at the old girl. He insisted I should get it running to sell and I said I didn't want to tear down the clutchs to free them up. His reply was, "Throw in a new battery and take it for a ride. The internal forces of using the clutch will free it up."

Now I don't know if that will do it or not, but he seemed to think so. The last time mine stuck I ended up taking it to a dealer. I just may give it a try ... nothing to lose.

Roger
