67 honda dream clutch

Can any one help me with a clutch problem?<br />Mine is stuck and will not release. It has done this before and I rocked it back and <br />Forth and it let go but this time it won’t. Any help before i take it apart.<br />Thank you<br />

I have a CB160 Sport with the exact same problem. <br /> I have not had time to actually fix it yet, but have done the research for this projuct.<br />Over time the clutch plates gunk up and stick. If they will not <br />release, you must take them apart and clean them off. The<br />steel plates will be easy to clean, but the friction plates may need to be replaced. (I bought new ones as I do not want to<br />have any redo) Also new springs would not be a bad idea, but<br />the old one should work, unless clutch was slipping.<br />Another tip: Purchase a set of Stainless screws for your bike.<br />They are great and look great!

I've got a late (68-69) Dream Touring that has been in storage under the work bench since it tried to kill me for the third time back ~1976. We've decided to upgrade our fifth wheel camper and I think the old Dream is going to be part of the &quot;Toy Exchange&quot; program along with my '94 Miata Roadster.<br /><br />Anyway ... I had a neighbor who has ~ a dozen bikes (including a Dream) come over and look at the old girl. He insisted I should get it running to sell and I said I didn't want to tear down the clutchs to free them up. His reply was, &quot;Throw in a new battery and take it for a ride. The internal forces of using the clutch will free it up.&quot;<br /><br />Now I don't know if that will do it or not, but he seemed to think so. The last time mine stuck I ended up taking it to a dealer. I just may give it a try ... nothing to lose.<br /><br />Roger
