The large gray round thing with a a screwdriver slot on the righthand side cover is an adjustment for the mechanism that pushes the clutch rod. It is locked in place with the bolt next to it. Where the cable enters the case there is a threaded adjustment and there is a also a threaded adjustment on the handle bar.

I don't know of any particular procedure but I would first screw in the handle bar adjuster about 2/3 of the way and do the same with the adjuster on the case. Next loosen the lock bolt on the round gray adjuster and use a screwdriver to turn it clockwise until you feel resistance. Now tighten the lock bolt. Check the clutch lever - there should be almost no play. You can now adjust (screw in) the handle bar adjuster or case adjuster until you get the clutch lever play you want - probably about 3/8".
