main stand stud removal

Post by hotrodhendrix » Sun Sep 28, 2014 8:58 pm

Ca77 frame that already had the main stand removed when I got it. Starting reassembly and the frame still had the stock cross threaded stud in it when I poweder coated the frame. Seemingly even with some nice hammer beating it doesn't want to cone out. Is this threaded in somehow? Tricks? May just need more hammer beating but I don't want to make anything worse.

Thanks
James

main stand

Wanted to remove the center stand while still on the bike. I beat the stud to death, still wouldn't come out. I used a hacksaw blade to cut the shaft on each end till the whole stand fell out. Found out the stud is mounted in rubber. I was able to knock the stud out after cutting each end off and using a lot of penetrating oil. You may be able to use heat on it.
