CL77 Front Brake
CL77 Front BrakeLast season I rebuilt the front wheel, checked the brakes, etc. I'm having an issue now with the brake (go figure). If I put the brake linkage on the posts where the stamped markings (dots) line up, the brake cable does not reach the linkage to hook up. Tinkering with the linkage, I can make the cable reach, however the linkage (arms) no longer matches up with the markings on each post.
Is this an issue? The brakes work like this but I'm wondering if the PO installed a shorter cable.
I'd be worried if the TLS brakes on my CL77 or CB77 were weak. Properly set up and maintained brakes on the CL77 and CB77 work fine. There is no comparison between the brakes on a CA77 (I believe that's what you ride) and the TLS brakes on a CL77 or CB77. HT
I believe I have stock bars, they may be slightly lower but I think the sheath is the culprit. It appears to be too long compared to pictures I've seen of the stock cable. Mine is also black, not that it matters to me. Looking at ordering a replacement through olypen. Also I will be acquiring new carb intake tubes BC mine are hard and since the carbs and filters sit on an angle, I think the hard rubber isnt grabbing right. I will also be tossing in new carb to engine spacers/whatever as well.
Re: CL77 Front BrakeDid ya adjust the rod so both shoes fit flat to the cam lever inside?
I am able to do a stop wheelie with my poor duel leading shoe front brake. ...............lm
