Early (steel) or late (aluminium) outers?

If you have removed the top seal holder and you are trying to slide the lower parts off you may have a common problem that someone has used too long a bolt to hold the fender and put a dimple on the inside surface of the slider. This interferes with the fork bush and prevents the slider moving all the way.

Thanks for the info G-Man !
The lowerforks are made of steel. This could be the problem. So normally you can pull them out
And there are no hidden bolds or screws ? So if i pull with great force they must loosen ? Or Will
This cause dammage to the inner fork ?
(Sorry for my poor english)

Rudy

Your English is fine! Yes, sometimes the over-long bolt distorts the fork slider so the bush cannot be freed. If you look carefully with a light inside yo may see the obstruction. Sometimes you can force it off but you will probably damage the bush. They should normally just pull off.

On one occasion I managed to remove the dimple with a dremel grinder.
