'62 CB77 rear brake anchor pin removal?

Post by markstertt » Thu Mar 07, 2013 12:42 pm

I removed the nuts on the rear brake shoe anchor pins, applied penetrating oil and lightly tapped on the pins, neather budged. Any chance these pins are threaded into backing plate? The inner end of the pins are a square thin pad that don't really appear to be designed for wrenching. My original manual is barely inteligible and really offers little info on this topic...thanks, Mark

I found that a 7/8" 12 point socket fits the square end form of the anchor pins on my CB77 and with a rap on the breaker bar the pins broke free and are indeed threaded into the backing plate, so now I know and the rear brake assy. is cleaned up and lubed...Mark
