Front Brake Cable

Post by cadman » Sat Jan 26, 2013 1:48 pm

Some cables have a chrome tube from the lever. Most of the replacement ones I find do not have that. What is correct. anyone have a source?

Thanks - Don

They have one with the chrome tube. I'm not sure what is correct. Mine came without it on the brake, but with it on the clutch, but either or both could have been replace at some time.

I have a used one for cheap with the chrome elbow if you're interested. It's on a parts bike and I'll have to check to see what kind of shape it's in on Monday. PM me if your interested.

Update - Pulled it off the bike this morning and it's not in very good shape. The inner cable itself is not corroded, and the rubber bellows on the end is intact, but the chrome elbow is kinda rusty and there's a couple of tears and bends in the outer conduit. It has a lot of white paint on it. It would function on a rider, but I'm not that proud of it. Yours for postage if you want it.
