Is aluminum bendable??

Post by bk305 » Fri Sep 30, 2005 6:20 pm

here's a question for someone out there that knows more about metal properties than me! anyhow...when i was reassembling my swingarm and alum. footpeg mounts, i noticed my right alum. mount had a noticeable hook to it. (mostly at the end where the foot rest mounts) -must have fallen over at one time? my question is, can this be straightened out with/or without heat? i'm afraid of just jumping in this and breaking something. anyone have any luck with this?? thanks-bk

If the part is the triangle shaped part on a CB72/77 they do bend easily and if heated to some degree (I don't know what that temperature is cause I've had them break even heated) they may be streightened somewhat. ......................LM<br />
