Brake Arm Index Mark

Post by gopher » Wed May 12, 2010 8:36 pm

I'm trying to reassemble the front and rear brake panels on my 1967 CL77 with the later style hubs. I just got my brake arms back from the chrome shop and the index marks on the small arms were sanded and polished away. My question is where the alignment mark is on the small brake arm? If I put the slot of the clamp in the 12:00 position, how many teeth clockwise or counter clockwise is the mark?

If I read your question right, the mark would be 11 splines clockwise. Hope the pic helps. RW

Thanks Rusty! The picture really helped. I'm installing new dust seals on the brake cams. Should I moisten them with a few drops of oil before I slip the brake arms into place?
